Rome

Day 1

1. The Colosseum: each and every one of them is a well-known sight that you don’t want to miss during a romantic city trip to Rome. Fortunately, the city centre is fairly compact. That’s why it’s easy to tick off the most important highlights in two days.
2. The largest fountain in Rome/the Trevi Fountain: is of course known for the age-old ritual with which you can confirm your return to the Italian capital. Simply by throwing a coin over your left shoulder. But did you also know that by successfully throwing three coins you will marry a Roman?
3. The Spanish Steps of Rome: The ‘Spanish Steps’ in Rome, built in Rococo style between 1723 and 1726, are the steps that run from the Piazza di Spagna square towards the French monastery church Trinita dei Monti (built between 1502 – 1587). The stairs consist of 135 steps and three different terraces.
4. Via del corso: Via del Corso is the most famous shopping street in Rome. In the centre of Rome, you can also shop very well, Via del Corso is the most famous shopping street. This 1.5 km long street is filled with numerous department stores and chain stores. It connects the Piazza del Popolo in the north of the city with the Piazza Venezia, the most central square. Although not especially in the Via del Corso, the twin churches at the beginning of the street (Piazza del Popolo side) should still be mentioned. Santa Maria dei Miracoli and Santa Maria di Montesanto.
5. In addition, Italy is certainly also known for its delicious ice cream. Three ice creams a day, that is the
   least you should eat if you want to try all the delicious ice cream flavours.

Day 2

Departure time 9:00 am Castel San Angelo, Vatican City and the Sistine Chapel. A trip to Rome would not be complete without a visit to Vatican City.

Vatican City, surrounded by Rome, is the smallest state in the world. Country within another country is called. Did you know that this is the only city where Latin is still spoken?
The city has about 300 inhabitants. Vatican City is the capital of the Roman Catholic Church. On the large square is the church of the Pope. Discover during this visit how this state became independent.
